Trying to replace CAC hair with teen gohan's hair
- June 1, 2017 at 11:33 pm #234652
Does anybody know how I can make gohan’s hair fit on my CAC’s head? Right now it just kinda floats in his neck areaJune 8, 2017 at 10:50 am #235846
That’s because you didn align the hairs to the hum esk. Right now the hairs are in that position because they are using the default position (which is that of teen gohan). What you should do is:
- make a fbx merging both the hairs.emd and the hum.esk with emdfbx (it would be even better if you put also any face and forehead.emd too);
- open the new file you made through either blender or 3ds max;
- correctly align the hairs to the head.
Note that this is the standard basic process, you still need to align the texture too which is contained in the .emb (but that requires the use of photoshop etc).June 8, 2017 at 3:04 pm #235862June 8, 2017 at 3:26 pm #235868
Yeah, you must rescale it, as blender use its own built in unit. I attached some screenshot showing you what to do with the basic issue you are facing. However, take note that there is still the texture aligning to do. I encourage you to search for some blender guides for xenoverse ONE, as the process is IDENTICAL. Aside this, both xenoverse 1 and 2 threads have their own tutorial section, which I urge you to take a look at.

Thank you for your help! Never thought to look at the XV1 tutorials, only ever looked at XV2June 8, 2017 at 4:09 pm #235872
It’s my pleasure 🙂 . I thought the same back in the day, but luckily the process is the same for both games, so you just need to find a tutorial that suits your needs better 🙂 .June 8, 2017 at 10:48 pm #235955
One more thing if you can help me, I’m trying to make the hair color changeable in-game. I found this guide http://dbxvmods.freeforums.net/thread/182/make-custom-hairstyles-colorable-screen but I don’t have 3ds Max so at around step 9 I’m not sure what to do in blender. I haven’t had any luck finding Blender tutorialsJune 8, 2017 at 11:10 pm #235956
Mmm…I’m not sure to be honest. I’m not using blender for quite some time. I do remember though that for making something color changeable i used a different method. What I did was to pick the .emb, .dytemb and .emm and renamed them reflecting your modded hairs filename. MAYBE I edited the content of the .emm (after converting it into xml through a tool) but I don’t remember quite well, as it was back in the xenoverse 1 days.June 8, 2017 at 11:17 pm #235957
Do you know if this was what you did? https://xenoversemods.com/forums/topic/how-to-make-all-clothes-colorable/ It’s for clothes but maybe it works for hair too?June 8, 2017 at 11:33 pm #235958
EXACTLY, that’s what I did for the hairs too (forget the .emb part, got confused, it’s only the dyt.emb)! It should work that way.June 10, 2017 at 4:44 am #236098
Sorry to bug you again (I feel like I’ve been asking too many questions lol) but do you have any guides for adding the texture to the hair? it’s the only thing I have left to do but the videos and tutorials I’ve found are only for the bust and stuff like that. I saw Heirtalent had a video for texture aligning in the Xenoverse 1 section but it doesn’t allow me to watch it because of copyrighted music or something.June 10, 2017 at 4:55 am #236099
I think this guide should be enough for you to understand: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pXeWvK7kAw
Ignore the multiple texture he merged, just focus on flipping the texture estracted from the emb and use it on blender 🙂 .
Bust, hair, pants, everything works the same way, so don’t worry about it.June 10, 2017 at 4:59 am #236101
Thank you! I’m gonna try this tomorrow (because i’ve been working on this a lot today and i’m tired lol) and hopefully come back with good results 🙂June 10, 2017 at 5:06 am #236102
It’s for the better. Resuming your project as a good rest brings better results for sure. I know how you feel, I started the same why, although I have to say that during xenoverse 1 days there were way more people helping each other than now :/ . Anyway, have a good rest!June 11, 2017 at 2:54 am #236220
