Super Metal and Rock Music Pack (replaces Anime Music Pack #1)

UPDATE:

IF YOU DOWNLOADED THIS BEFORE, PLEASE SEE THE KNOWN ISSUES AREA FOR AN UPDATE ON NEW SONGS (download for a second pack)

This pack replaces all of the music in Anime Music Pack #1. The vast majority of new music is hard rock or metal. This is something I've wanted to do for myself for a long time, and I figured some folks may be interested in it as well.

Songs featured include tracks from Skull Fist, Gallow's End, Slash, Racer X, Anthem, Impellitteri, Megadeth, Steelwing, HavokDeath Angel, and Marty Friedman. And lastly, I included a Yggdra Union track as a bit of a wild card.

It's likely you haven't heard of half (or more) of these artists, but I assure you, this soundtrack rips. If you like the heavier XV2 battle music songs, you will hopefully like this.

Please leave requests in the comments, and I'll do a request pack if we get enough submissions.

Known Issues:

  • I had a feeling the randomizer was skipping some tracks, so I took a look. The way the anime music pack is arranged is very odd (via Dimps) - every track is duplicated. So I thought there were a total of 22 tracks available, as there are 22 slots (but each of the 11 songs had a duplicate). It turns out that the duplicates have a specific purpose. One version is for battle music and the other is for Conton City; meaning, of the 22 tracks, 11 play during battles and 11 play during Conton (even though they're the exact same songs), with no overlap. So my mod actually only provides 11 songs instead of 22, because the other 11 are not being played during battles (you can hear them in Conton City if you select that option though). I'm trying to figure out how to fix it completely, but for now, I will upload a second music pack that has the other 11 songs as battle music. That way, if you want to hear new songs, you can just swap out the two files, and that will change the shuffle selection; not the best solution, I know. Here it is the download.
  • (I think this one is fixed) Sometimes the randomize function doesn't work properly. If you encounter this, simply go to the in-game settings for Music, change the selected entry to literally anything else (and go back to the top main menu to make it stick), then go back and change it to Anime Music Pack #1 again. I'm investigating what is causing this, but it's not purposely reproducible so far.

I believe you have to own Anime Music Pack #1 for this to work.

  1. Download either/both .cpk and place it in the cpk folder in your Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 directory
  2. You will have to overwrite the original .cpk - I highly recommend backing it up elsewhere before overwriting it.
  3. In the in-game settings, select the Random feature for Anime Music Pack #1 for battle music, Conton City music, and/or quest music.

3.0: Added second music pack of tracks that weren't previously being played during battles

2.0: Replaced the vanilla tracks I initially left in. Pack should now be 100% new music.
